Originally a great product, soon afterwards forecast wouldn't update for days at a time, happened often, as of today, it's been about a month with a blank forecast. I guess its a expensive thermometer. The software hasn't been updated in forever so the software craps out a lot on Windows 7 and Vista.

Once I talked to the co 'server down' was the response. Their sparse documentation has been no help.

I searched online for a solution several times and never found anything that helped. I wouldn't recommend this model. I made the mistake of buying one of these directly from Oregon Scientific rather than Amazon. I was unable to install the software with a Vista Ultimate operating system, Incredibly, the list of home cities does not include New York City - just imagine the largest city in the United States and one of the most famous cities in the world is ignored by Oregon Scientific.

I could not get Oregon Scientific on the phone. Three or four days later, without a response, I was able to get through on the telephone. The woman knew nothing about the product. She said it was not supposed to work with Vista. She was surprised that the manual said it did. She was not surprised to hear that New York City was not included in the list of home cities.

She said the engineers had been told to include all state capitals. She was rather surprised to learn that Albany and not New York City is the capital of New York State. She said that an engineer would call me back. Two weeks have passed without a call.

I threw the thing out. Every company screws up once and a while, but the mark of a good company is how they handle the error. Oregon Scientific's answer is to ignore the screw-up and hope it goes away. I just tried to set up this monster (I600), and found problems confounded by poor design backed by no support and poor web structure on the part of Oregon Scientific.

No software support, poor malfunctioning hardware and really poor documentation. This is a text book case of a failed company. Could not get the unit to work for more than a few minutes at a time. With base and remote next to each other, they reported widely differing temperatures and humidity -- for the short time they did connect. How this company manages to continue to sell products is a testament to advertising over common sense.

Barnum was right, sadly I am one of the suckers born every minute. I got the I600 for my wife about a year and a half ago, and I have never been able to get it to work for more than a week or so. First, it had software that would go into an endless loop ('There is a newer version of this software' message would come up continuously, even after you downloaded the new software), and then it couldn't find the computer which from which it was supposed to get unpdated weather data. Mtk drivers 4pda proshivki. Sometimes, if I completely reloaded everything, it would work for a few days, and then stop again.

Loading the software on other computers failed too. And writing to the company never got a response. This really is one of the very worst products that I have ever purchased!

I would never buy another Oregon Scientific product.
